General 

In previous versions of Financial Intelligence solution, user has an option to filter entire report by dimensions using global dimensions filter or advanced filter. Now we like to introduce new feature: possibility to spread dimension values into report columns; in effect each number in column will be filtered by own dimension value. 
It will allow to generate more flexible and powerful financial reports, e.g. comparing cost of departments, sales by item categories, areas and so on (depending on local dimension setup)
Setup 

To generate a report with dimensions in columns as first user has to chose one of the newly added column layouts: 
  • Current Month by Dimension – Month to Date value filtered by dimension value; 
  • Current Quarter by Dimension – Quarter to Date value filtered by dimension value; 
  • YTD by Dimension – Year to Date value filtered by dimension value; 
  • Balance by Dimension -Balance value filtered by dimension value, layout designed to use with Balance Sheet report type.
Once one of mentioned layouts is set, additional fields like “Column Dimension” and “Column Dimension Filter” become available for editing. 
“Column Dimension” – in this field user can set the dimension to spread into columns. 
“Column Dimension Filter” – in this field user can apply a filter on chosen dimension values in order to narrow presented on a report dimension value set. 
Report generating 

Setup of report and report generating procedure in this scenario are the same like in other layouts case (Report ID, Mapping ID, Report Date and so on). All of features like Save / Restore / Compare or Report Evaluation are available too. 
After generating of report You can see that each column is prefixed by dimension value name or dimension value code if the dimension value name is empty. 
Note, that only dimension values with type “Standard” are used as column filter. 
Filtering by dimensions 

In case of using Column Dimensions feature user still can apply any of available dimension filter techniques on entire report (Global Dimension Filters or Advanced Filters). In case of conflict of dimension filter setup, the primary is a dimension set as column dimension. It means that if given dimension will be set as column dimension, filters set on this dimension through global dimension or advanced dimension will be ignored. 
Dimension context 

One of most important features in Financial Intelligence are an insights created by AI telling a story about Your company financial situation. Now user can create a general evaluation of dimension filtered report or ask the question about dimensions and expect considerable response. But, as usual in AI solutions, the context is everything. 
To help AI understand the meaning of given dimension for Your company, we added a feature which allows to create and store a description of dimension context.  

To create a dimension context: 
  1. On main page go to “Advanced Filters”.  
  2. On “Advanced Filters” page, click “Dimension Context” option. 
  3. As first, try to generate a context automatically with AI support. Click “Create Dimension Context” option. 
  4. AI will create for You a proposal of descriptions for each dimension found in database. You can edit created proposal by clicking on Dimension Context field. 
  5. To create context description for new dimension, click “Create Dimension Context” once again. User can also create it manually on a page.
